One of the best things I’ve chanced upon this year is Collapse Board, a great website of passionate, fun, articulate, strong-minded, music criticism (motto : “We criticize because we care”) originated by Everett True (aka The Legend) of Melody Maker/grunge fame. One of the best pieces so far on Collapse Board is How I learned to play guitar by Erika Meyer, a story of persistence, doubt,  and self-discovery. Erika Meyer is a member of Boo Frog, and their swamp-infused brand of rock’n’roll ain’t half bad, either. Read on, watch, listen, enjoy.

Si vous lisez l’anglais, l’un des meilleurs sites musicaux actuels est Collapse Board, fondé par Everett True, ancien du Melody Maker et proche de la scène grunge et des riot grrrls. L’un des meilleurs papiers publiés sur le site est How I learned to play guitar, où Erika Meyer raconte sa lente approche de l’instrument, et comment elle a peu à peu envoyé balader doutes et critiques pour prendre confiance en elle. Erika Meyer est aussi l’une des membres de Boo Frog, un groupe de Portland pas dégueu. Si vous ne lisez pas l’anglais, rien n’empêche de profiter de la vidéo, et Collapse Board peut vous donner envie de faire des progrès dans la langue internationale du rock.
